Introduction to Pastry Making

Join experienced pastry chef Liz for a day all about pastry. During the course you will make three varieties – sweet, savoury shortcrust and flaky – which will later be transformed into individual apple pies, Cornish pasties and pork-filled sausage rolls.

Each student will make their own batches of pastry by hand and then will use them to produce tasty bakes using a selection of fillings prepared fresh for you in advance by our team.

Making great pastry is a key baking skill and you’ll master how to prepare and handle pastry to get consistent and delicious results every time.

Liz will be on hand to guide you through all the processes as well as to offer lots of tips and share her extensive knowledge.

Each student will take away everything they have made on the day and we provide packaging. There will be chances to taste the produce too!

**Please note that due to the recipes used in this class regretfully it is not suitable for vegetarians and cannot be adapted. Pork and beef are used.**

£120 per person

Who does this class suit:
Beginners +. This is a hands-on class which is not ideally suited to under 12s. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult booked on the same course

Length:
Full Day - 10am - 4.30pm approximately, including a few short breaks. Please note that finish times depend on the speed of the group overall, so occasionally may finish a little earlier or later than advertised

What’s Included:
Tuition; all equipment and ingredients; apron to use during the lesson; recipe sheets; lots of helpful hints, tips and baking advice; complimentary refreshments. Students take home everything they have made on the day. Lunch is not included - we highly recommend students bring a packed lunch

Maximum Class Size:
5 students (previously 8 students, however we are operating reduced numbers to adhere to social distancing guidelines and to prioritise the safety of our guests and team)
