Mince Pie Making
Pastry is sometimes a skill that aspiring bakers struggle with – we will help you master all the key techniques to ensure yours is always crisp and golden every time. Students will prepare their own batch of pastry, before filling with our homemade mincemeat and baking.
Students will also hand prepare an additional batch of mincemeat each to jar up and take away along with their 12 finished mince pies.
We will also demonstrate how to make proper custard to accompany your homemade bakes.
All course bookings are subject to our Terms and Conditions, including our cancellation policy. Please ensure that you are able to attend the date you book, as transfers and refunds will not be offered, but you are most welcome to send someone in your place. This policy is to enable us to run our courses viably and therefore maintain our high quality standards – to explain, if a student cancels and transfers to a new date and we can’t resell their cancelled place then it means we lose out on making that place available e.g. that’s one student taking two spaces but only paying for one – it just doesn’t add up!
On the rare occasion that we must cancel / reschedule a course students will be offered an alternative date or a full refund without question.

Mince pies / homemade mincemeat / custard recipe demonstration
Who does this class suit:
Beginners +. This is a hands-on class which is not suitable for under 10s. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult booked on the same course
Half Day – 10am - 1pm approximately. There is no break during this course. Please note that finish times depend on the size and speed of the group overall, so occasionally may finish a little earlier or later than advertised
Students take home all they’ve made on the day and all packaging is supplied; students may wish to bring along a cool bag if desired. Fees also include an apron to use during the lesson; recipe sheets; complimentary refreshments and a chance to taste some freshly baked produce
