Bread Making for Beginners
This beginners course in real, handmade bread making is perfect for novices and anyone looking to develop confident skills and learn about how simple home-based bread making can be. Using easily accessible equipment and ingredients, students will make everything individually by hand. No bread making machines here!
The session includes an introduction to the tools and ingredients needed for good bread making, as well as two different hands on bread making techniques. Each student will work on two yeasted breads, sweet and delicious cinnamon rolls and a quick and quick and easy soda bread dough to make a speedy loaf for when you’re short on time.
All course bookings are subject to our Terms and Conditions, including our cancellation policy. Please ensure that you are able to attend the date you book, as transfers and refunds will not be offered, but you are most welcome to send someone in your place. This policy is to enable us to run our courses viably and therefore maintain our high quality standards – to explain, if a student cancels and transfers to a new date and we can’t resell their cancelled place then it means we lose out on making that place available e.g. that’s one student taking two spaces but only paying for one – it just doesn’t add up!
On the rare occasion that we must cancel / reschedule a course students will be offered an alternative date or a full refund without question.

Who does this class suit:
Beginners +. This is a hands-on class which is not suitable for under 12s. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult attending the same course
Full Day - 10am - 4pm approximately, including a short break for lunch
Tuition; all equipment and ingredients; apron to use during the lesson; recipe sheets; lots of helpful hints, tips and baking advice; complimentary refreshments and home-baked treat. Students take home everything they have made on the day. Lunch is not included but we can make suggestions for places where students can find a range of food options or students can bring a packed lunch

We thoroughly enjoyed our Introduction to Breadmaking Course. It removed the mysteries of breadmaking which is so often promoted by others and taught us that it can be a really very simple procedure. My wife and I attended Sarah's 'Bread baking course' in September 2014. We had previously attempted bread baking at home, with no great success. Sarah demonstrated a simple and straightforward method which we were able to put into practise during the course.Sarah's professional but easy going manner made it a most enjoyable day. Came home with 2 loaves each, which we had proudly baked ourselves. Would recommend this course to complete beginners or those wishing to improve their skills
